SILKOLENE PRO FST – FUEL SYSTEM TREATMENT REVIEW

For the past 6 years our head mechanic has been using the Silkolene Pro FST additive. The reasons span from cleaning valves and injectors to reducing harmful emissions. In this review we explain why it is our “go to” fuel system treatment for all petrol engine motorcycles.

Who are Silkolene?

In 1908, the company now known as “Silkolene” was born in Belper, Derbyshire. With agriculture in mind, the Dalton family produced lubricants and later did so for the automotive industry.

What is Silkolene Pro FST?

Silkolene Pro FST is a multi-functional treatment for petrol engines. By adding Pro FST to your fuel you can protect against:

  • Cold start wear
  • Corrosion
  • Carburettor icing
  • Deposit build up problems
  • Stalling and rough running at low engine revs

It can be used in both leaded and unleaded fuel and in 2 and 4-stroke engines. It reduces the incidence of pre-ignition and also enhances the fuel’s octane rating to a small extent.

How to use Silkolene Pro FST

  • The recommended dosage is circa 100ml. Measure as close to this as you can and add to a full tank of petrol for the best results.
  • Be sure to wear gloves whilst handling any fuel and treatment solutions. Wash any spills immediately with warm soapy water.
  • Once the Pro Fuel System Treatment is in the motorcycle fuel tank close and lock it immediately.
  • After securing the fuel tank, start up your motorbike and allow it to run for 30 seconds.

A 1 litre bottle will see at least 10 cycles. Each cycle should be approx 3 months during colder months and longer during the Spring and Summer.
